Questions about this service
Can the interpreter negotiate terms for us?+
The interpreter conveys your position accurately, but does not act as your lawyer, investment adviser, sales agent or decision-maker unless that role is separately agreed in writing.
Can we sign an NDA before sharing the agenda?+
Yes. Mention it in your inquiry and we will sort out the NDA before any confidential materials are shared.
Can one interpreter cover a programme lasting several days?+
It depends on the hours, intensity, travel and topic. Long or demanding programmes may need shifts or more than one interpreter, and the quote will say so.
Do you do online meetings?+
Yes. We check the platform, time zone, audio, number of people and how documents will be shared before the meeting.
Can you translate documents before or after the meeting?+
Yes. EMYSTI also translates meeting materials, minutes, presentations, manuals and product or software text between Japanese, Chinese and English, prepared with the same terminology as the interpreting assignment. Document work is quoted separately by volume, field and deadline.

After the first hour, time is charged in 15-minute steps.
An EMYSTI professional interpreter costs ¥12,000 per hour (about ¥48,000 for a 4-hour half day, ¥96,000 for an 8-hour full day). Christine Lee costs ¥13,500 per hour (about ¥54,000 for a half day, ¥108,000 for a full day). Both rates include tax. The minimum is 1 hour, then 15-minute steps. Travel, specialist preparation and out-of-hours work are added to the quote if needed.
Travel, accommodation, rush jobs, nights and weekends, or preparing materials are listed in the quote if needed.
Formal simultaneous interpreting is not charged at the single-interpreter hourly rate. It needs a separate quote, because we first have to plan the interpreter team, booth or portable equipment, audio, venue, preparation time and shifts.
