All prices are in Japanese yen and include tax. We send a formal quote based on the hours, the format, the place, preparation and travel. Your booking is confirmed only after you accept the quote.
Interpreter rates in Japan
An EMYSTI professional interpreter is ¥12,000 per hour (about ¥48,000 for a 4-hour half day, ¥96,000 for an 8-hour full day). Christine Lee interpreting in person is ¥13,500 per hour (about ¥54,000 for a half day, ¥108,000 for a full day). All prices include Japanese consumption tax. Christine looks at every request, whoever interprets.
The languages, date, hours, format, place, proposed interpreter and payment terms. Travel, out-of-hours work, specialist preparation, equipment or extra coordination are listed separately if they apply.
Travel costs are quoted when needed. Specialist preparation, nights and weekends, travel between locations, complex arrangements and ongoing support are listed separately if they cost extra. Simple email or phone help of up to 15 minutes related to the job may be included; repeated admin work and long-term follow-up are not.
All quotes are in yen. If you can pay in another currency, it is converted at the payment provider’s rate on the day you pay, and the payment page shows the final amount. Formal simultaneous interpreting needs a separate quote based on team size, audio, venue, equipment, preparation and schedule.
