Frequently asked questions

Practical context for these answers

01

Before you request

A useful first inquiry includes the service area, languages, date, time, city or remote platform, participant roles and a short description of the purpose. This is enough for us to assess the assignment without asking for unnecessary information.

02

After a quote is accepted

EMYSTI confirms the work scope, assigned interpreter and payment terms, then coordinates the agreed preparation and service. Please tell the project team promptly if the date, hours, location, participants or purpose changes materially.

03

For personal, medical and confidential settings

Interpretation supports faithful communication; it does not replace medical, legal, financial or other regulated advice. Begin with minimal data. We will explain the next appropriate sharing step if documents are genuinely needed.

Frequently asked questions

Questions clients ask before booking

Can I request Christine Lee?

Yes. You may request Christine Lee, but her personal interpreting is confirmed only after EMYSTI reviews the assignment and her availability. Her rate is ¥13,500 per hour, tax included, when she personally interprets.

Can EMYSTI select another interpreter?

Yes. EMYSTI can match another professional interpreter based on the language direction, field, location, schedule and working format. Christine still reviews the assignment and remains involved in professional preparation. The standard rate is ¥12,000 per interpreter hour, tax included.

What is the minimum booking time?

The minimum is one hour. Time after the first hour is billed in 15-minute increments. Travel, specialist preparation, equipment and out-of-hours requirements are quoted when they apply.

Is a short meeting with the interpreter possible?

When appropriate, EMYSTI may arrange an online introduction of up to 15 minutes before confirmation to check communication fit and practical expectations.

Can I send medical records or confidential files in the inquiry form?

No. Start with the minimum scheduling and subject information. If a document is genuinely required, EMYSTI will explain why it is needed and how to share it securely.

Do you provide formal simultaneous interpreting?

Yes, subject to separate review and quotation. Formal simultaneous work is not sold at the base single-interpreter hourly rate because team size, audio, venue, equipment, preparation and schedule must be assessed.

Can you support remote meetings or telephone calls?

Yes. EMYSTI can review remote or telephone interpreting needs, including language direction, platform, participant access, timing and technical preparation.

What happens if the assignment changes or is cancelled?

Tell the EMYSTI team as early as possible. The final quote and confirmed order state the applicable change, travel, preparation and cancellation conditions. Charges are based on the time and work actually reserved for the assignment.
