Semiconductor and manufacturing interpreting
Interpreters for semiconductor meetings and factory visits in Japan.
We arrange professional interpreters for semiconductor testing, precision manufacturing and supplier meetings in Japan. One interpreter can stay with a visiting team for several days — technical meetings, factory tours, management talks and business dinners — so the terms and context carry over. Our Tokyo and Shimonoseki offices arrange on-site work anywhere in Japan, and we can also do online calls before or after the visit. Send us the topic and the full itinerary and we will check who fits and send a quote.

Semiconductor and manufacturing interpreting
Prepare a semiconductor visit brief
One programme covering meetings, factory visits and business meals lets EMYSTI review technical fit, continuity and travel together rather than treating each conversation as a separate request.
- Cities, travel between sites and the full daily programme, including dinners
- Language directions, participant roles and expected technical depth
- Component and process topics, such as contact probes, probe cards or surface treatment
- Permitted product descriptions and a shared glossary; confirm confidential-material handling separately
- Factory access, PPE, noise, photography and host arrangements
- Documents needed before and after the visit, with translation deadlines
How we choose interpreters
Before, during and after
Look at the topic and the whole trip
Tell us the countries and languages, technical topics, cities, meeting dates, factory visits and dinners. We plan the whole trip as one job instead of pricing each meeting on its own.
Prepare part and process terms
An agenda, product descriptions and a glossary help us get part names, measurement terms and process words right. We confirm what can be shared and sort out unfamiliar terms before the visit.
Keep the context from meeting to meeting
If the schedule allows, the same interpreter can go with your executives from technical talks to site visits and dinners. If a team is needed, we arrange preparation and handovers. Minutes, manuals or follow-up emails can be translated separately with the same terms.
Who checks the job, and how we choose
Chosen for your technology
Christine Lee and EMYSTI look at every request. We check the interpreter’s experience against your subject, how technical it is, who is attending and the preparation time — we don’t claim any interpreter fits every technology.
Anywhere in Japan, one contact
Our Tokyo and Shimonoseki offices handle travel, the daily schedule and agreed changes. The quote shows the interpreting time and any travel, specialist preparation or out-of-hours work up front.
Technical interpreting is communication help, not engineering certification, a security review, export-control advice or permission to operate equipment. Safety and technical decisions remain the client’s responsibility.

FAQ
Questions about this service
Can one interpreter stay with our executives for several days?+
Yes. We can plan one interpreter through meetings, factory tours and business dinners, depending on the dates and route. Send the full programme so we can confirm availability, travel and preparation together.
Do you cover probes, semiconductor test and precision manufacturing?+
Yes, these are technical topics we handle. Tell us the part types, processes and the purpose of the meeting so we can prepare the terms and choose the right interpreter.
What should we send before a factory visit?+
The city, host company, schedule, languages, technical agenda and any briefing materials you can share. Also tell us about site access, protective equipment, noise and photo rules so we can plan the visit.
How are technical jobs lasting several days priced?+
An EMYSTI professional interpreter costs ¥12,000 per hour (about ¥48,000 for a 4-hour half day, ¥96,000 for an 8-hour full day). Christine Lee costs ¥13,500 per hour (about ¥54,000 for a half day, ¥108,000 for a full day). Both rates include tax. The minimum is 1 hour, then 15-minute steps. Travel, specialist preparation and out-of-hours work are added to the quote if needed. The final programme decides the total interpreting time and any extra items.
Can you translate technical documents before and after the visit?+
Yes. Presentations, minutes, manuals and product or software text can be translated between Japanese, Chinese and English using the same terms. Document work is quoted separately by volume, field and deadline.

Formal simultaneous interpreting is not charged at the single-interpreter hourly rate. It needs a separate quote, because we first have to plan the interpreter team, booth or portable equipment, audio, venue, preparation time and shifts.
