EMYSTI interpreter readiness standard

How EMYSTI prepares and delivers

Before the appointment

We confirm the departments, participants, language direction, schedule and permitted preparation materials without asking for unnecessary medical data.

During the consultation

The interpreter conveys questions and answers faithfully, manages turn-taking calmly and avoids adding diagnosis, treatment advice or personal opinion.

After the appointment

Brief order-related scheduling or email assistance of up to 15 minutes may be included; complex coordination and ongoing case support are quoted separately.

Christine’s oversight and interpreter selection

Clinically informed leadership

Christine Lee reviews every assignment as founder and chief interpreter of this EMYSTI business. For medical and healthcare-AI-related work, her clinical medicine education and University of Tokyo medical research experience inform terminology preparation and interpreter selection.

Assignment-specific selection

When another interpreter is assigned, Christine remains involved in professional review and preparation. EMYSTI also confirms the interpreter’s language ability, relevant medical experience, location, availability, confidentiality and professional conduct.

The standard consecutive-interpreting rate is ¥12,000/hour for an EMYSTI professional interpreter. Assignments delivered by business founder and chief interpreter Christine Lee are ¥13,500/hour. Both rates include tax. The minimum is 1 hour; time after that is billed in 15-minute increments. Travel, specialist preparation and out-of-hours requirements are quoted when applicable.

Formal simultaneous interpreting is not sold at the base single-interpreter hourly rate. It requires a separate quote after EMYSTI reviews the interpreter team, booth or portable equipment, audio feed, venue, preparation time and operating schedule.

Medical interpreting is language support, not medical advice or emergency care. In an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service or medical provider directly. Institution references never imply endorsement or employment.

Practical answers

Questions about this service

Who reviews a specialist medical interpreting request?

Christine Lee reviews every assignment as founder and chief interpreter. If another interpreter performs the work, Christine remains involved in professional review, interpreter selection and preparation.

Should I upload my medical records with the first inquiry?

No. Begin with only the minimum scheduling and subject information. If documents are genuinely needed after review, EMYSTI will explain why they are needed and how to share them securely before anything is sent.

Does the interpreter explain which treatment I should choose?

No. The interpreter supports faithful communication and does not provide diagnosis, medical advice, consent on your behalf or a substitute for a qualified clinician.

Can you arrange a quick call with the proposed interpreter?

When appropriate, a short online introduction of up to 15 minutes can be arranged before confirmation to check communication fit and assignment expectations.
