Questions about this service
How do you know an interpreter fits our technology?+
We look at the subject, the purpose of the meeting, how technical it is, the terminology, the format and the preparation time, then check for relevant experience — not just a general “technical” label.
Can we share confidential drawings or specifications?+
Only after the job and the way of sharing are confirmed. Please clearly mark anything export-controlled or security-sensitive so we can tell you whether we can accept it.
Can the interpreter operate our equipment or give safety advice?+
No. The interpreter translates instructions and questions, but does not replace qualified operators, engineers, site safety training or your own safety rules.
Can one interpreter stay with our executives through meetings, a factory tour and dinner?+
Yes. For visits lasting several days, the same interpreter can stay with you from technical sessions to site tours and business meals, so the terminology and context carry over. Send us the full programme when you ask for a quote.
Do you cover factory floor visits?+
Yes, depending on the location, protective equipment, access, noise and safety rules. Let us know these before we quote so we can suggest the right interpreter.
Can you translate documents before or after the meeting?+
Yes. EMYSTI also translates meeting materials, minutes, presentations, manuals and product or software text between Japanese, Chinese and English, prepared with the same terminology as the interpreting assignment. Document work is quoted separately by volume, field and deadline.

After the first hour, time is charged in 15-minute steps.
An EMYSTI professional interpreter costs ¥12,000 per hour (about ¥48,000 for a 4-hour half day, ¥96,000 for an 8-hour full day). Christine Lee costs ¥13,500 per hour (about ¥54,000 for a half day, ¥108,000 for a full day). Both rates include tax. The minimum is 1 hour, then 15-minute steps. Travel, specialist preparation and out-of-hours work are added to the quote if needed.
Travel, accommodation, rush jobs, nights and weekends, or preparing materials are listed in the quote if needed.
Formal simultaneous interpreting is not charged at the single-interpreter hourly rate. It needs a separate quote, because we first have to plan the interpreter team, booth or portable equipment, audio, venue, preparation time and shifts.
